Lora E. Greene Attorney
I have practiced law for over 22 years. I have resided in Alpena County since 1995 and developed my own law firm, The Law Office of Lora E. Greene, PLLC in 2003. I am a founding partner of GPS and am excited about the opportunities we will provide. We created GPS to provide the best counsel, advocacy and personal service for our clients in a wide range of legal matters. We have developed a vision and plan of representation that will provide benefits to clients for many years.
My practice of law includes civil disputes; contracts/business matters, including collections; real estate transactions; probate law; and family law including dissolution of marriage (divorce), mediation*, modification of child support, parenting time and parental responsibilities, and issues regarding paternity. In addition to working to ensure fair settlements in these cases, I also believe part of my role as an attorney is to educate my clients about the impact the law will have on their specific issues. I strive to help them understand the legal implications associated with their choices, and provide them with the information they need to make the best decisions for themselves and their families.
I obtained my Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School. My bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis in finance and business, was earned at Michigan State University. I chose to study business and finance with the goal of using those general skills to assist business and individual clients in making choices about their financial future, and then use the legal system to help implement these choices.
As a part of my practice, I try to not only solve legal problems, but I also strive to respectfully help my clients move forward into the next phase of their life. I find that I can do this whether I am working in mediation, collaboration, or litigation.
Outside of the practice of law, I enjoy spending time with friends and family; viewing the beautiful scenes of Alpena and Northeast Michigan; and outdoor activities. I feel truly blessed to be a part of a community that strives to improve, develop and that has citizens who strive to make Alpena the best place to live. Thus, I try to give back by volunteering. I am proud to be a part of, or have worked with the following organizations:
